Exercise is one of the most important thing to do if you want to lose weight and keep it off for good. If you are serious about losing weight you need to exercise, plain and simple. The reason exercising is so important is because it burns calories and in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume.

The problem with just cutting calories without exercise is when you only cut your food supply down, your bodies automatic response is to use your muscle tissue for energy, not fat. The problem with burning up your muscle tissue is that muscle BURNS CALORIES by just existing! Your muscle tissue is the closest thing to a fat burning furnace your body can create and the less muscle you have the less calories your body will burn on a day to day basis.

When you exercise, your body is using muscles and the muscles need energy to do your exercise so your body breaks down fat and feeds it to your muscles for energy which actually makes your muscles grow, which helps your body burn MORE calories! The best way to lose weight is to mix in a smart eating plan with exercise.

Remeber any activity that increase your heart rate is good for you and will help you activate your metabolism. This includes walking the dog, cleaning out or washing your car, shoveling snow, mowing the lawn, basically anything that gets you active and your blood pumping. If you really want to multiply your weight loss results make sure to exercise at least 4 to 5 times a week. Exercising regularly will increase your metabolic rate, and keep it higher for longer periods of time. This means you will burn more calories naturally, even while you sleep!

If you want the best results in your weight loss journey you must train with weights, and have a good cardio plan. You want to focus your weight training on building muscle mass. Like I mentioned earlier, muscle burns calories just by being in your body, so the more muscle mass you have the more calories your body automatically burns. Combine this with a 20 minute cardio routine 3 to 5 times a week and you will see the fat literally melt away from you in 6 weeks.
