Begining your Journey to Losing weight.

January 19th, 2010 by admin

We all want to lose weight fast but when we don’t immediately see the results we want, we tend to give up completely and go right back into our old ways. Most of the time people set unreasonable goals, and then get discouraged when they are not achieved. Instead of having the all or nothing frame of mind with dieting or beginning a new exercise program, you should think of it as making little choices that are going to help you improve your overall health and get you on your way to meeting your goals. This approach is going to give you better results.

Most people who start a new diet program set unreasonable goals that are not possible for anyone to achieve. This becomes something they see as a failure and decide to not completely give up on their diet. If they had only all changed a few key things, they would have been well on their way to losing excess fat.  Some people change what they eat because it is healthy and they forget that you can never stick with a diet program if you don’t like the foods you’re eating. They can only eat those foods for so long, and then back to the regular foods.

If you want your weight loss plan to be successful, you need to set reasonable and reachable goals. Be reasonable with what you can do and recognize when something isn’t possible. A reasonable goal is to start limiting the amount of calories you consume, and try to eat fruit with every meal. Following a sensible plan is usually best for long term weight loss.

Weight loss depends on many factors, such as the retention of liquids, the intestinal evacuation, the time of day you weight yourself, and everything that you eat. If you change your eating habits you will find that you are able to lose more weight and because you are still eating foods you enjoy, you won’t fail. One of the biggest reasons people fail on diets is because they are being way too strict with their food choices. The key is to allow yourself to have treats and enjoys foods that you love in moderation.

If you really want to lose weight then do not plan on losing a certain amount of weight every week, that can lead to unhealthy choices and the chance of gaining all of the weight back after you are off the diet. Think of it as making lifestyle changes instead of dieting. That can help you view what you are eating as a choice, not a diet. Just don’t give up two weeks after you start. Losing weight takes time and effort. If you stick with it you will see success.

Weight Loss Plans For Success

January 18th, 2010 by admin

There is a very simple formula that anyone can use when trying to figure out how to lose weight. Your fat is not going to disappear on its own, so the best thing that you can do is to not eat as much and get more physical activity. Another important aspect is you need to eat foods that are healthy. Here are some helpful tips to help you get started on your weight loss plan:

1.Try to eat breakfast everyday.
This can help keep you from getting hungry later and then losing control over what you choose to eat. Not to mention eating breakfast will kick start your metabolism in the morning helping you burn more calories.

2. Keep your pantry full of healthy foods.
Stock your pantry with healthy foods and snacks and get rid of the foods that are unhealthy like chips and sodas.

3. Eat more fiber
Fill up on fiber by eating foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Consuming healthy fibers will help you feel full, and prevent you from making unhealthy food choices by keeping hunger at bay.

4. Eat small portions.
You can help figure out what a serving should be by measuring out your portions accurately, especially when you first start your healthy eating plans. Your idea of what a serving size should be and what they really are can often be very different.

5. Set lifestyle goals
Try not simply focus on your weight loss goals and the number the scale reads. Make a total commitment to eating healthy foods and having a good exercise plan or you will eventually gain all of the weight you lose back. Make the goal of living a healthy lifestyle. This will lead you to healthy weight loss, but it will take time. Remeber Rome wasn’t built in a day, and the same thing applies with weight loss.

6. Keep healthy snacks with you.
Grab some bananas, healthy granola bars, apples and other fruit to help stop you from the temptation of getting unhealthy snacks instead. Try and keep something healthy in your car too! This way when you start getting hungy you wont be tempted to grab some fast food.

7. Eat foods you love in moderation.
If you really crave a certain food, you don’t have to starve yourself from it. Instead think of it as a treat or use it as a reward for keeping with your diet, and only have it once in a while.

8. Get more active.
The best way to help lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise. Try to either ride a bike, swim, or walk and jog for about 30 min a day.

9. Keep a diet and exercise journal.
Keep a track on what you eat and how often you exercise. On days you feel like giving up go flip through your journal and read all of the work and effort you have put into your weight loss goals. This will help motivate you and keep you on the right track.
